Our Favorite Things about McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach

Spanning 10 acres in the heart of North Myrtle Beach, McLean Park is well known for its beauty and bountiful amenities! Here’s what you need to know before you head to the park.

McLean Park is known by both visitors and locals as the prettiest park in North Myrtle Beach!

Bring your camera and plan on spending a few hours unwinding in what is easily the most beautiful park in North Myrtle Beach. Inside the 10-acre park is a lake that takes up about two of those acres. With plenty of giant shade trees and lots of green grass, McLean Park is a great spot for family photos or to simply throw down a blanket and enjoy a quiet afternoon.

Kids agree that McLean Park is awesome.

McLean Park caters to both big kids and small ones with two different playgrounds. One playground is built specifically with kids ages 2-5 in mind; the other is kids ages 5-12. Let the kids run out some energy while you sit back and relax in the shade. Or, take them to see the lake and watch the geese! There’s a fantastic bike trail throughout the park as well, so if you have the room, toss the bikes in the car and enjoy a family bike ride around the park.

McLean Park has great amenities.

With a big parking lot, restroom facilities and giant shade structures, McLean Park is an ideal place to spend a few hours. Turn off the cell phones, step away from the mental work that is always with us and enjoy time with the little ones while they are still little.

For an even smaller, residential park experience, visit Yow Park. This 1.5-acre neighborhood park features a playground, half-court basketball, and picnic area. Yow Park is only four blocks from the ocean and five blocks from Highway 17.

Ocean Park

Ocean Park is the perfect beachfront hub for your family’s day at the beach. The park offers paved parking, restroom facilities, beach showers, concessions and a picnic shelter. The kids will love the 40-foot tall, beachfront, inflatable slide that is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Heritage Shores Nature Preserve

Heritage Shores Nature Preserve may be the best place in Myrtle Beach to truly get away from it all and connect with nature. The island-based Preserve has seven acres of walking paths with interpretive signage describing the plants, animals, fish, and birds in the area. Heritage Shores Nature Preserve can be accessed via Cherry Grove Park.

Russell Burgess Coastal Preserve

Russell Burgess Coastal Preserve is only two blocks from the beach and offers a scenic overview of the picturesque Cherry Grove Marsh. Fishing and crabbing are permitted in the Preserve and visitors can also enjoy a stroll along the marsh boardwalk to observe native flora and fauna.
