How to Have a Lovely Afternoon at Cherry Grove Beach

Located on the northern end of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the beautiful neighborhood known as Cherry Grove is the perfect place for a summer getaway. The Atlantic Ocean borders one side of the beach while Hog Inlet and its salt water channels border the other, creating spectacular views and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. In addition, its historic pier, white sand beaches, and renowned restaurants offer everything you need for an awesome family vacation – and it’s all just steps away when you stay with Seaside Vacations! Here are some of our favorite attractions at Cherry Grove Beach.

What You’ll See at Cherry Grove Beach

Cherry Grove Fishing Pier

Originally built in the 1950’s, the Cherry Grove Pier is an area landmark that has withstood the test of time. It has weathered many storms over the years and was completely destroyed in 1989 by Hurricane Hugo, then had to be remodeled and lengthened again in 1999 after Hurricane Floyd. Today, guests can spend the day at the pier and enjoy a variety of activities including fishing, shopping for souvenirs at the gift shop, sightseeing from the two-story observation deck, or dining at 3500 North Ocean Grill, the pier’s open-air restaurant. The fishing pier is located between 34th Avenue North and 36th Avenue North.

Activities & Recreation

Like much of the shoreline in North Myrtle Beach, Cherry Grove features soft, sandy beaches and clear waters that are ideal some fun in the sun. Guests can enjoy a variety of thrilling water sports including swimming, parasailing, fishing, or boating, as well as kayaking down the inlet, canoeing the salt marsh, or jumping the waves in the Atlantic. If you prefer to be on land, feel free to take advantage of the picnic areas, playground, showers, and restrooms at Cherry Grove Oceanfront Park, located just steps from the sand.
