Paradise Adventures

A couple playing Mini Golf together at the beach

Paradise Adventures has three great locations in North Myrtle Beach, each with a different course and theme. Mutiny Bay is a 36-hole, all outdoor adventure. It’s easy to spot due to its enormous pirate ship that can be seen along Highway 17. A great pirate battle breaks out every 30 minutes. Cancun Lagoon is next and features a huge replica of an ancient Mayan pyramid. Playing this air-conditioned indoor/outdoor course is a great way to cool off while having fun! If you’re looking for a great place to visit on a rainy day, Molten Mountain has a course indoors. You can also play outdoors next to their 50-foot active volcano which erupts every 30 minutes.

Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf

Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf has been a staple in North Myrtle Beach since 1955. Here you’ll find two courses, each perfect for a date night or evening with the kids. The first is the Lost Treasure Golf Course which begins with a train ride to the first hole at the top of a mountain. As you play your way down the mountain, you’ll hear the story of Duffer A. Hacker, a man who led an expedition to search for gold and diamond mines. Players can attempt to discover prehistoric bones, statues, and hidden treasure during their game.
The second course is the Dinosaur Adventure Course, which features an 85-foot long steamship, waterfalls, streams, dinosaurs, a hot air balloon, and more! Follow Professor Hacker’s adventure on a mysterious island that contains dinosaurs. You’ll love exploring the lost world while playing through the course.

Hawaiian Rumble Golf & Batting Cages

For a taste of Hawaii in North Myrtle Beach, stop by Hawaiian Rumble Golf & Batting Cages. The one-of-a-kind landscaping lends to a unique mini-golfing experience. Enjoy the sounds of birds while playing the 18-hole course, or step out to the back deck to feed to resident turtles! The course is also home to the United States ProMiniGolf Association that holds the Crocodile Rocks Master’s, a national competition.

Mayday Golf

Mayday Golf has two courses, each contributes to an ongoing story. The first, Mayday Mountain, puts players at the site of a plane crash. Players must make their way through the tropical island to rescue. It’s an 18-hole course that is bound to challenge!
The second course is Rescue Falls, which features a real Huey rescue helicopter. The brave players are going to be rescued; they just have to make their way through 18 more holes. You’ll be taken past the Falls, a waterfall that tends to catch visitors off-guard.

This is a standard shell that you will find on the South Carolina Coastline and is one that you will want to see more of. Known for its smooth, shiny, and cylinder shape along with Its unusual brown markings is a beautiful shell that you will want to continue to add to your collection!

Whelk Shells

Whelk shells are found a lot on the east coast, but they are often located here on the shoreline of North Myrtle Beach. These shells are often confused as being a conch shell by many, but don’t let that stop you from adding to your collection. Whelk shells are beautiful, and you will often find them with a spiral pattern on the outside of the shell. These do come in different sizes, so don’t be discouraged if you happen to find a small one compared to a larger one on your trip.

Cockle Shells

Shells You Can Find on Your Next Vacation to North Myrtle Beach

Cockle shells are found on many beaches around the United States and will be easy to distinguish. These shells look a lot like a scallop, but they have a heart like shape to them, unlike a scallop. Cockle shells come in a variety of colors and sizes and are one to collect. You can use them with arts & craft projects, place them in a jar with a candle in the middle, or let the kids use them to decorate their sandcastles.

Coquina Clam Shells

The Coquina Clamshells are many that you will find along the shore and are often one of the most common shells found at the beach. Many children love to see these shells while at the beach and collect them. They are small clamshells that are around an inch long, and they are found in several different colors. These shells are often found alive by the water burrowing themselves in the sand.

Jingle Shells

Jingle shells are often found along the Atlantic coast and are known as clams or oysters. Often, you’ll find them with a very iridescent color shell, and their outside is shiny. Many children find them on the beach and will use them on the sandcastles they may build each summer.

Sand Dollars

Have you ever found a sand dollar while searching for shells along the shoreline? You may have found pieces of them more often than the whole one, but we promise you can find them in the area too. While you can go out and purchase them from local beach gift shops, finding some of your own is more fun and adventure. We will say they are very fragile, so if you find one, be careful with it.

Many other shells can be found in North Myrtle Beach, such as Pen Shells, Banded Tulips, and Atlantic Moon Snail Shells. Staying in one of our Oceanfront vacation rentals will allow you and your family to enjoy the beach to collect shells.
